The 2009 Mitsukos Vineyard Merlot is a complex wine redolent of fresh black cherries, plum jam and wild violets enhanced by nuances of fresh pipe tobacco, garam masala and slate. Merlot is a perfect match for beef and other medium-heavy dishes. It pairs wonderfully with rich, red pasta sauces, pork, turkey, beef, veal, pheasant, and garden salads.
