Gilgal Syrah was produced from Syrah grapes grown in the Golan Heights. Aging in French oak barrels for twelve months balances out the classic smoky, blackberry, and earthy characters of Syrah. The Gilgal Syrah displays blackberry, cherry and plum fruit notes with hints of earth, smoke and juniper. This medium to full-bodied Syrah is flavorful and drinkable. The Gilgal Syrah is ready to enjoy now, and should remain in good drinking condition for about five to seven years from vintage. Give the wine a try with a seared pepper steak, spicy chicken wings, or a lamb tagine. Syrah pairs nicely with barbecued foods, grilled foods, dark meats, strong game, hearty ripe cheeses and lamb - hearty foods. It also goes well with Indian, Mexican, and other spicy foods.
