Established in 1776, at the dawn of the American Revolution, and distilled over three family generations through 1958, the Pepper family brand of whiskey is one of the oldest and most legendary whiskey brands in American history. Recently Georgetown Trading Co. assumed the stewardship of this iconic brand, and after extensive historical research, they were able to create an accurate reproduction of the original James E. Pepper Whiskey. James E. Pepper "1776" Straight Rye Whiskey is a bold, spicy spirit created from a mashbill containing over 90% rye. Bottled at 100 proof without the use of chill-filtering, this whiskey offers pronounced notes of spice, chocolate, clove and honey which linger through the peppery finish.
