Marchione Nero D'Avola

Flavor Profile: Medium-bodied, dry. Ruby red with purple highlights and a nose lush dark fruit. Blackberries and blueberries on the palate with finishing notes of licorice, balanced tannins and damp earth  The project started in Piedmont with producers of excellent Gavi and Dolcetto, but now a new grape has joined the Marchione family. Nero D'Avola is Sicily's primary red grape, but it has yet to hit the mainstream in the states - until now. Marchione is so well-priced for the level of winemaking and quality of fruit.
