Midleton added its first permanent Midleton Very Rare Barry Crockett Legacy single pot still Irish Whiskey to its range in 2011. Named after Barry Crockett, a second-generation master distiller, Midleton Very Rare Barry Crockett Legacy represents a selection of pot still whiskeys matured in American bourbon barrels, with a small contribution from a pot still distillate matured in an unseasoned American barrel. Single Pot Still whiskey is unique to Ireland in general and to the Midleton Distillery in particular and is regarded as the quintessential style of Irish whiskey. Made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and then triple distilled in traditional copper pot stills. Pot Still whiskeys are characterized by full, complex flavors and a wonderful, creamy mouthfeel. Midleton Very Rare Barry Crockett Legacy has won over 30 awards, including the Master Medal at the 2024 Spirits Business Irish Whiskey Masters – their top award.
