100% Bere barley grown on the remote Scottish island of Orkney. This whiskey was distilled in 2010 and is 8 years old. It has been matured on Islay in American ex-Bourbon casks and is non-chill filtered & coloring free. It is 50% ABV.
This vintage of Bere Barley was harvested from the 2011 crop and distilled in 2012. Using Bere Barley, Britain's oldest strain of cultivated barley, we are helping to reintroduce a varietal which has mostly disappeared from whisky production due to its lower yield. We are continuing to champion flavor over yield with the result being a whisky created with utmost respect, from grain to glass.
