Big Table Farm Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Oregon
USA
2013
The use of whole cluster fermentation is the back bone of this wine. Lots of leather and oak spice on the nose. Black cherry, dried cranberry, and pomegranate, as well as cardamom and anise. Palm sugar, hay, clove, and sandalwood on the palate. Very fresh and bright, approachable wine.
Soft tannins, and high acid, make this a great food wine.
Vinous Review: 90 points
Light, bright red. Lively strawberry and floral pastille aromas are complicated by suggestions of blood orange and white pepper. Brisk and sharply focused, offering tangy, focused red berry and spicecake flavors and a hint of succulent herbs. In a lithe, graceful, fat-free style, finishing with silky tannins and very good closing cut.
-- Josh Raynolds
Wine Spectator: 89 points
Lithe, polished and expressive, this restrained style gives up the pretty cherry and sassafras flavors as the refined finish persists. Drink now through 2019. 1,534 cases made.
