Tait The Ball Buster Barossa Valley South Australia 2011 Professional Review By Josh Raynolds Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jul/Aug 13 (made from 75% shiraz, 22% cabernet sauvignon and 3% merlot): Deep ruby. Dark berry compote, licorice and woodsmoke on the assertively perfumed nose. Smooth and appealingly sweet, offering vibrant black raspberry and cola flavors and a hint of bitter chocolate. Velvety tannins come on late and add subtle grip to a smooth, fruit-driven and persistent finish. Production for this popular wine was off by a full third this vintage. 90 points Shiraz pairs nicely with barbecued foods, grilled foods, dark meats, strong game, hearty ripe cheeses and lamb - hearty foods. It also goes well with Indian, Mexican, and other spicy foods.
