Wente Vineyards Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is named for the family's vineyards located along the southern hills of the Livermore Valley. The Wente family farms approximately 400 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards using the two clones originating from California wine pioneer Charles Wetmore’s Bordeaux cuttings in the 19th century. With Livermore Valley’s unique East-West orientation, well-drained rocky soils, and unique microclimates, the Southern Hills vineyards are located in the most desirable settings with exposures ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon of distinct character, depth and intensity.

Wente Vineyards 2019 Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon welcomes you with aromatics of dark fruits such as plum and cherry. The dark fruit characteristics carry onto the palate, delivering flavors of boysenberry and fig with a hint of warm baking spices. This wine finishes with round, smooth tannins.

The varieties were fermented separately in upright stainless steel fermenters and pumped over twice daily.
