Product Info
Veuve du Vernay Ice Rose is a sweet pink sparkling wine produced in France. It is a unique blend made using the Charmat Method, in Burgundy, region located on the South of Champagne’s appellation. Which gave a slightly sweet taste, crafted to be enjoyed over ice. It’s a blend made with premium red grapes offering well-balanced and full rose’s taste with match with its fruity aromas. This ice rose sparkling wine is perfect to enjoyed for any celebration or in cocktail such as Spritz, Bubbly Martini, Sunset Soiree, Vodka Gimlet. Additionally, it is important to mention that this wine is made by Maryline GIANNA, our woman winemaker.
Veuve du Vernay was first made in the 1960s by Robert Charmat, the son of scientist Eugene Charmat who patented the Charmat Method of producing sparkling wines. Robert Charmat employed this method of trapping the carbonation from secondary fermentation to make his own sparkling wine full of fresh aromas and flavors. Robert named his wines for a widow in Vernay who helped his father during his early winemaking days. Veuve in French means widow.
Generous foam with fine and plentiful bubbles. Beautiful, bright and vivid rose color. On the nose the sparkling wine shows fresh and fruity scents with zesty raspberry aromas. Well-balanced and full, this beautiful rose's taste matches its fruity aromas. Tangy notes on the finish give a pleasant freshness.
