Our malted barley is roasted in a similar way to coffee beans, which gives Guinness its distinctive dark color and stormy profile. This iconic beer is defined by harmony. With notes of coffee and dark chocolate, Guinness Draught is velvety smooth with a sweet malty nose. Developed in 1959, this beer was our brewers’ celebration of Arthur Guinness signing his 9,000-year lease – a fitting way to mark 200 years of groundbreaking brewing. It is one of the most successful beer brands worldwide, exclusively brewed at St. James's Gate, Dublin, Ireland, and available in over 150 Countries. Drinkers around the world are drawn to Guinness for its complexity and bold flavors.

Smooth at first with bold flavors that develop on the tongue, Guinness Extra Stout has a mild, boozy bite with a dry finish. The perfect balance of bitter and sweet, our beer has the rich, roast characters of the barley and a distinctive fruitiness from fermentation. Guinness Extra Stout has a luxurious, dark color with a full-bodied creamy head. Hints of coffee, caramel and toffee add to the rich experience. Sharp and crisp to the taste, it’s an entirely different experience from the smooth, creamy Guinness Draught and punchier Foreign Extra Stout, but the trademark Guinness flavors preside. Guinness Extra Stout is 5.6% ABV, 47 IBUs and 45 SRM. Guinness Extra Stout is based on a beer first brewed in 1821, when Arthur Guinness II set down precise instructions for brewing his Superior Porter. Brewed at our St. James’s Gate brewery in Dublin, Guinness Extra Stout is crafted from finest quality malt, hops and Irish barley.

Guinness Foreign Extra Stout is a beer like no other. The most full-flavored of all Guinness beers. With a fruity, sweet palate and loads of hops for bittering, Foreign Extra Stout marries bold bitter flavors to the sweet. Our beer is known for its bold, full-bodied flavors including the smoky, roast flavor of malts and sweet caramel. Rich and dark with a frothy head, our Extra Stout has an initial tingling bite that develops on the tongue into a dry finish. Where extra hops and a stronger ABV were used in the 1800s to preserve beer, allowing it to survive and thrive during long sea voyages, now those same elements yield the bold taste and flavors of our Foreign Extra Stout. Guinness Foreign Extra Stout is 7.5% ABV and 65 IBUs.
