From Vouvray and Montlouis producer Francois Chidaine comes this fun and much cheaper alternative. 100% Sauvignon Blanc, though calling it a "baby Sancerre," would be cliche and not give it justice as it comes from Touraine with a whole different set of minerals. More chalk than limestone with deep fruit layers of stone and citrus. Has the fine distinction of being both a serious food wine and fun outdoor sipper.
