Mars Iwai Tradition Japanese Blended Whisky

Situated at 2,600 feet in between the Central and Southern Japanese Alps, Mars Shinshu is Japan’s highest whisky distillery. “Iwai” (pronounced like the vowels E-Y), is named after Kiichiro Iwai, one of the grandfathers of Japanese whisky. "Tradition" is an ode to Scotland, where the Japanese learned how to make the art of whisky. Therefore, Iwai Tradition is a malt driven “Scotch-style” whisky that is incredibly balanced, soft and layered. A blending of sherry, bourbon and wine casks with delicate hints of peat make for a harmonious whisky. Great recommendation for Scotch drinkers or people looking for an intro to the Scotch world.
