Tasting Notes: Bright purple. Strong aromas of red berries, spices and dried flowers with a spicy note to be built with air. Juicy in the mouth, offers fresh currants, cherry flavors. Fine-grained tannins add a long and spicey accented finish.
Vinous Review: 90 points
Bright purple. High-pitched, smoke-accented black and blue fruits on the highly perfumed nose and palate. Appealingly sweet and seamless in texture, with a spine of juicy acidity providing definition and structure. Closes sweet, smoky and quite long, with smooth tannins building slowly. The 102.5-hectare vineyard that provided the grapes for this wine were planted in 1970 and the wine was aged in small, used French oak barrels for six months. For the quality delivered this price is a gift.
