Boroli Barolo Piedmont Italy 2010 Wine Enthusiast Review by Kerin O’Keefe Subtle oak, toast, espresso and mature black fruit aromas lead the nose. The youthfully assertive palate displays coffee bean, crushed dark cherry, vanilla, black raspberry and black pepper alongside drying wood tannins. Drink after 2018. — (10/1/2014) — 89 points Vinous Review: 88 points The 2010 Barolo is a pretty, mid-weight wine to drink now and over the next few years. Menthol, pine, smoke, tobacco, underbrush and dark cherries are followed by hints of orange peel and spice as the wine gradually opens up. This is an attractive, entry-level offering from Boroli. -- Antonio Galloni The Wine Advocate: 89 points The 2010 Barolo shows a decidedly austere side with unusual tones of dried fruit and chestnut honey backed by furniture wax, dried tobacco and cola. The wine is aged for two years in both tonneaux and botte grande followed by 12 months in bottle. It shows special focus on evolved tones of spice and licorice. As a result, it tastes older than it really is and is probably better suited for near-term consumption. Drink: 2015-2022. Barolo is a powerful red wine that combines best with strong-flavored dishes like braised beef, game, and rich pastas.
