Menthol, pine, smoke, tobacco, underbrush and dark cherries are followed by hints of orange peel and spice as the wine gradually opens up. The wine is aged for two years in both tonneaux and botte grande followed by 12 months in bottle. It shows special focus on evolved tones of spice and licorice. As a result, it tastes older than it really is and is probably better suited for near-term consumption. Drink: 2015-2022. Barolo is a powerful red wine that combines best with strong-flavored dishes like braised beef, game, and rich pastas.
